Kyla Ghirardello has been selected as Miss Bel Air 2025, the 15th young woman to hold that title, the Bel Air Independence Day Committee Inc. announced on social media Tuesday, March 4. Ghirardello will appear at multiple Independence Day events in Bel Air on July 4, including serving as the honorary grand marshal for the downtown parade that evening. The BAIDC is a nonprofit organization that coordinates Bel Air's annual July 4 events with support from the Town of Bel Air and Bel Air Police Department.

Ghirardello, who grew up in Bel Air and has marched in prior July 4 parades, is a graduate of C. Milton Wright High School and holds degrees from Harford Community College and Towson University. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in marine science through Unity Environmental University, an online institution based in Maine, while also working as a lead urgent care veterinary technician for Homeward Bound Veterinary Services in Bel Air.

“My mission is to promote a cleaner, more beautiful greater Bel Air community, and to encourage today’s youth to pursue careers in STEM," Ghirardello said in a statement. "I’m thrilled and pleased to be able to serve my community and represent Bel Air all through this year, in the Miss Maryland Competition, and especially on July 4th!”

Ghirardello succeeds Miss Bel Air 2024 Gianna Romero, who has been named Miss Central Maryland 2025. Ghirardello will go on to compete for the Miss Maryland title.

“I believe that Kyla Ghirardello, who grew up in Bel Air, marched in our parade as a clarinet player and drum major, and who lives and works now in Bel Air and participates in many Bel Air activities already, will be a wonderful Miss Bel Air, and a continuing credit to the community," Michael Blum, chair of the Miss Bel Air Selection Committee, said in a statement.

Blum also serves as vice president of the Independence Day Committee and the Committee's parade chair. Other members of the Miss Bel Air Selection Committee include former title holders Laura Patnaude and Gabrielle Kerby Brady, plus BAIDC board members Amy Biondi, Don Stewart and Lisa Williams.
