Uniform Patrol Division
The Bel Air Police Department provides 24/7 law enforcement coverage in the municipality of Bel Air, Maryland.
Patrol is the primary activity of the Police Department's uniformed force. Its' objectives are equivalent to the total police responsibility and include:
- Prevention and detection of crime
- Protection of life and property
- Apprehension of offenders
- Control / Enforcement of traffic
The Uniform Patrol Division consists of 32 police officers which are divided into three patrol groups of 12 police officers (Senior Officers/Officers First Class/Officers); 3 patrol Sergeants, 6 patrol Corporals, and 1 K-9 Officer.
Additionally, the Bel Air Police Department is staffed with 9 full time and part time police Dispatchers.
